Glenn Beck , on the radio got into the current round of Robin Hood tax schemes. I find Beck in small doses useful for his more expansive perspective. His solutions, thought out as they may be, are short sighted in comparison. That aside, the point was that Obama is not Robin Hood. Obama is the sheriff. It is not a new thought.

Of interest is the idea that the Sheriff of Nottingham is a representative of his government, a bureaucrat.Getting my head around it, there is this form 2002:

Tax is only the beginning. Follow any right leaning or libertarian new source for very long and there is a bureaucrat out of control and getting away with it. It follows as well that Robin Hood is often painted as some libertarian crusader protecting the poor. Are we looking for someone to take his place? Forget the economics, it about freedom and forget Robin Hood. Today in the United states he is the "poor".

I Am Done with the Stimulus Bill

Final thoughts on the stimulus package.
First i just didn't get to this: Economic incest

Instead, everyone constantly siphons off a little, government bureaucrats make mistakes that result in gold vanishing permanently, and corruption becomes the only way for those in the power seat to generate a little private wealth."

It goes on that this is socialism and is dangerous.

Second, this package is out of line with the traditional arguments. On the conservative side more econimic freedom (creates wealth and innovation) and less social freedom (responsibility) The liberal side less econimic freedom (hurts people less) and more social freedom (feels good do it).

It can go to far in both directions. The excessive restriction side is what we are playing with here. If you have restrict social freedom to much you stifle innovation that leads to economic stagnation and eventual a totalitarian state( the Middle Ages). On the other hand less economic freedom means less wealth creation and innovation. That leads to shrinking economy and more people get hurt. Then the state has to steps in and keep the people from hurting. As those costs rise there are more restrictions to keep the cost down. Again a totalitarian state (U.S.S.R.).

So the bill is seeking to limit the hurt caused by so call "too much economic freedom". In reality it was too much economic restriction in the first place(pushing housing, tax law, less transparency, wealth transfer to government for welfare, ect.). They restrict the economy further so fewer people get hurt and then give them help. Then the strings and restrictions on those that get the help. When everyone gets the help, everyone gets the strings. They "for the social good" make everyone take the help. Some banks where forced to take TARP money and everyone gets a tax cuts. It is going quickly off the rail. The over restriction of economic freedom will feed on it self. Give people more, take more from the economy. Costs go up, restrictions go up.

It all make sense in my head? hopefully it makes some sense.

Finally I am not going to cover the little drips of pork coming to light. I am concerned about the pork but hiding behind it are policy changes. Changes made in the middle of the night that where not debated or opened to the light of day. I will try to bundle them together and post a few at a time. The bill is done. The direction is set. Time is better spent now trying to change the path of we travel. America Is not dead but is on life support with the paper work to pull the plug coming from Congress.

Finally, really this is it. I will however happily hammer away at those, as the election comes around again, that say this fixed any thing. There are a very small but growing signs of recovery now and before Congress passed this bill. The stimulus bill may help for the short term but has a good chance of pushing us into a depression after. It is going to be about timing. If at the height of the little recovery the liberals convince us that its over. It is OVER. If we are just pass it and the fiscal conservatives can convince us the stimulus didn't do much. We might have a chance. So hammer away I will.

SCHIP and A Heath Care Nanny Board, We Will Be Boxed In

I don't know what i was thinking. I looks like Mr. Obama was going to at least play at being a pragmatist and take it slow for a while. I had forgotten i had written about the Obama nuclear option. It was not quite right. He will let the house crazies do it for him and he will play nice from the White House.

Had not read the bill and was not convinced that this was not just the run of the mill liberal expansion of government. I don't like it, think it is a waste and just wrong. But i could live with it.

'Section 9201 of the stimulus package establishes the "Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research." This body, which would be made up of federal bureaucrats will "coordinate the conduct or support of comparative effectiveness and related health services research."'

That I don't know that for fact. It sounds exactly like the last part of socialized heath care, just before the socialized society kicks in. Pass the little expansions of heath care like SCHIP til every one covered. then start with the food taxes, weight checks and screens in all rooms waking you up and watching to make sure you do your exercise.

They seem to be smarter than that. start at the bottom and sneak one of the keystones of socialized medicine in. Box it all in. I don't know how much force of law this board has. The board may do the rest. At the very least it will give the collectivists numbers to point to or write reports they can just pass and hide behind. It is down to just fill in the box after this.

There is no fixing this bill. Filibuster. Any that is not a leftist should remember that they have to live hear to and with themselves.

I don't say this lightly. If you let this pass it will very likely kill off what is left of what America was meant to be. Not right now but it will be dead in just a generation or so. It is in your power to stop this current assault.

America The Last Best Hope

I wish that we could all make good points with out being snippy or what ever you call it. The point is well taken in spite of the nonsense.

It is not conservatives or Republicans but all of us that should be suspicious. Not just suspicious but inquisitive and thoughtful on those matters and many others.

That is the real question. We as a people need to stop blaming our country for the worlds problems and realize the the U.S. is the main if not only obstacle to the world falling into darkness, a second Dark Age. Would USSR or any other Marxist regime made the advances they did with out fighting against a creative and productive free society? Those who will be left, Japan and some remnant of the eastern block, can not sustain those ideals in the face of the massive onslaught culturally, economically and even militarily.

I had hope we were better than that before the election. After I know he is right. My hope is that the answer is known before it is to late to turn back.

CNN shows us All our Mistakes

Let the assault begin. CNN demonstrates not necessarily a left view. What it does well is reflect the drive by thinking that plagues the main stream. These interviews need to be reviewed to first understand this drive by thinking and to better answer those types of questions. It is not to fight the left with conservative ideas.

It is to fight the lack of logic, the general ignorance of issues and the gotcha games on all sides.

"Why would you be so upset about people who clear more than $250,000 a year having to pay taxes when you're nowhere near that category? Is that a fair question? Can you give me answer?"

That is not a question that anyone in this country should have to ask, complete ignorance. The answer should be an explanation of the American dream and use The Words "American Dream"

This is where you make the principles argument. 'Having an American Or capitalistic system is far more important than my hard times. That is the sacrifice that we have to make, a little self sacrifice from all of us.'

Do not answer personal attack with attacks.
'Those are my debts and i am clearly responsible for them. I will pay them. I am not living high on the hog at the moment but they will get payed. And just because I don't have a license does not mean I am not a plumber. I fix pipes and toilets for a living that is may definition of a plumber. It may not be that definition under the tax code of the law but pluming is what i do.' Then. 'If your going to dig in my past for just being a spokes person than why ask Obama about...' Do Not use Wright of Ayers, his writing in collage are usually pretty benign material why didn't you ask him for that. 'I was not running for president, I was expressing my opinions as they fit with the McCain Camp"

Finally throw McCain under the bus on some of these issues. He was wrong on the tax stuff and should have pushed for the Fair tax. And be at least some what versed on it. Use the names of those who support it and can do a better job explaining and defending it. It just might become an issue that gets talked about and if it happens enough maybe it catch fire.

I am not yet ready to declare America dead yet. Most indications are that it is. I will have confirmation in 6-18 moths. The death certificate will be issued on the back of The Constitution of The United States of America in Nov of 2010 or at latest Nov 2012.

I do not buy the it was time argument. My sister called with the answer i already knew. I have tried to fight it, kick it in the head and dismiss it any way I can. She was getting IMs, one from a friend of hers from high school in which she said she voted for Obama because his ideas just sounded better. why WHY? So I am back to where I started 6 or so years ago. The American public is ignorant and stupid. It doesn't apply to every one on the left or right mainly the apathetic in the middle. I hate that thought. Several books and any number of articles have been written about the voters in this country. It makes me very uneasy. 9 of 10 have cable or sat. History Chanel runs just about 24/7. why?

The2 ideas under my skin:
Living under the first years of a Communist dictatorship that many of us may die tyring to over throw. I hope, hope that the talk of him being a centrist is true. ( I reluctantly turned on CNN and, what little I saw, they where all saying "yes, he has to be a centrist" and "yes, of course he will" not good") The history of Obama and in general do not make any of this look good. Maybe the deep belief in free speech and the ideas of a truly free society will prevail but after all this I am actually questioning it.

The second. The two party system is intact and may have gotten stronger. I am not a partisan, and think both parties are are full of dim three year olds. Global warming, cap and trade, cut taxes now, continued support of the tax system, social security, Debt, weak leadership, weak foreign policy and on and on. If Hannity and others would stop throwing crap and take the time to explain in clear language over and over may be others would understand his point. He is a partisan... I am not going to cry if he gets booted of the air. Cry over the first amendment but not over him or some of the other serious partisans. On the other side which won't get kicked MSNBC. They both drive people to unreasoned and and generally ignorant positions.
