Global Warming, Climate Change Watermelons

There is no reason to care about this,  not that there was to begin with.
The fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever - Telegraph

Even with the absolutely delusional notion by the current administration that climate change was more important than terror, this still is not important. The reason on that issue is simply that the temperature don't matter. In reality with a data set as large as temperatures for  entire globe for a whole year there is going to be a sizable error rate even with appropriate corrections. For the believers their corrections to the data prove their point and always will.

"Science, in the abstract is pure, but we don’t live in the abstract; we live in the real. In the real world science is financed by men and practiced by men. That means all the stupidity, vice and bias that is a part of the human animal will find its way into the lab."
Important points:
- What would be proof that the theory is wrong?
- The prediction: less than ONE degree warmer in a HUNDRED yrs
- Do more poeple died from cold ?

- Do plants like warmth and CO2?
- Is mitigating the damage cheaper than prevention?
- Is economic growth more helpful than prevention that slows it?
So Why is it more important than terror?

This is the red inside of the watermelon. Red for communist, more simply in most cases it's a stand in  for top down control. The same kind of tactics where used to get heath care overhaul.Just make something that sounds good up, call anyone that questions the worst name you can think of and rely on ignorance,of science in the watermelon case. Give us power over all production (CO2), Islam is not important.

Cap and Trades Little Brother

I missed this. Not a surprise, Me not paying much attention to all the details and the massive amounts of ridiculous ideas coming out of Washington. The American Renewable Energy Act not to be confused with the forth coming cap and trade bill is in congress now. Some states have past this and this bill will mandate it for the country as a whole. Where cap and trade is about taxing to much CO2, RES (renewable energy standard) is about penalizing for to little renewable energy.

If both are passed energy producers are going to get hit "coming and going" as they say. Renewable energy is almost exclusively not CO2 admitting. If you burn coal your hit with the carbon tax and it will not count toward the 25% renewable energy requirement. However if you use solar you have no carbon tax and it can be used toward the renewable requirement. This is not as economy crushing as a cap and trade bill will be. It is not going to help.

To be clear I find man made global warming a joke. You can make a security argument. Drilling and a gradual change over don't further destabilize the economy. At the moment I find it to be much more a security issue than energy.

Why bring this up. I read Obsidian Wings only occasionally. Thought there was some value in it I am not so sure anymore. New thoughts, at least new to me, keep you from falling into ideological pits.

From Renewable Energy Standards.

"A renewable energy standard is a requirement that utilities get a certain percentage of their power from renewable energy. It's a market-based system: utilities that exceeded the requirement would get credits that they could sell to other utilities who weren't doing as well, enabling us to meet the standard in the most cost-effective way.

This would be good in a number of different ways: good for the environment, good for our national security, and also, according to both the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration (EIA) and the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), good for consumers"(cont.)

Mar-ket Basssed Sy-stem ? You mean a system that uses a market not a free market system. Washington sets up a market by creating artificial demand. Pass a law that penalizes not having enough renewable energy raising the demand for it. Then just to be sure it keeps going, it is artificial after all, set a minimum price. I got it a market based system. Don't forget to use free market sounding ideas like "most cost-effective way".

Good for the environment if evil CO2 spewing man is causing the world to burn to a cinder. Good for national security if it do not press on the economy till it grinds to a stop. Good for consumers .?

"It would probably save less money now that oil and natural gas prices are down, but they will rise again. When they do, we'll be very glad if we took advantage of this drop in demand to cut our reliance on them."

Oh that pesky free market idea. Making energy the cheapest way we can. If coal and gas get to high we find a cheaper way. That can't work.?

Referenced is the idea that is more energy comes for renewable it will lessen the demand for fossil fuels thus driving it's price down. I do not know the numbers but it only works if increased cost of the renewables is less than the savings on fossil fuels. It looks like it is going to be hard with the increased cost of cap and trade on those fuels.

Is it wrong to hope it fails!?

Q.H. - Gore and judges

This has been around for a while. My question is what is next? I produce carbon. Do I have to pay or do the employer have to pay? Does gravity cause something? Oxygen causes rust and such. May be we should make a whole new marked for the use or production of oxygen. Just the parts that go into the atmosphere. It causes rust you know.

One more reason the Obama Presidency might be a complete nightmare. Still hope that the damage that might be coming is reversible. I not sure that damage, in general, done under Bush is reversible. The bailoutishthingy.

The Explotion of the US Economy and Freedom Bubble

I am listening to CNN and they are talking about where the poles are from state to state. A couple states are moving to Obama. The map looks better and better for him. What are you people thinking?! Not that McCain is much better.

Where the talk about the deficit and a freaking fix. The war's course is pretty set no matter what they say or who is in office move the freak on. Where is the talk on Social Security. A fix Not just moving it down the road! DO something about gas, do anything! I don't care if everyone thinks it will work, make a bold mistake I don't care, try try again, just do something.

On top of all that i am coming to the conclusion that our economy is so distorted by subsidies, the weird ways the US reports and figurers it economic reports and the difference in value of the goods we trade that no one knows what the hell is going on. Compare milk now to 2 and five year ago but do it in how much gold, silver or copper.

I feel that the whole economy is vastly over valued or is based far to much on just service, no real things, of a slowly worsening value. The quality of services has taken a dive just as the quality of a lot of people has. The bubble will burst under enough pressure, co2 cap and trade anyone?

When that happens the freedom follows. There not going to close papers or lock you up for speaking against the government. You will just get laughed down, call racist or what ever fits and you will not be heard.

There will be nothing you can do, why because you will be boxed in by the intrusive and oppressive government polices on all types of economic issues. heath care taxes of all types aide to all education for all subsidized house for all The list roles on. I like Animal Farm as a book not a way of life.

I am going to put he pitch fork down. i have to get gas to cut the lawn so the county doesn't come and fine me for bringing down values and cutting into the tax I pay them. What. Deep breath pitch fork down.

A Clinton Idea

I have not been watching much of the Pres. race. i have been thinking and watching things far more interesting of important. Some Californincation, Iraq war info and some talks on atheism. i paused the vid on my computer for a drink or something and unmuted the TV to watch Sen. Clinton saying something to this effect: we should pay some people to go to homes of the elderly to cover their windows and insulate their homes. That will help cut their energy bills and lessen the over all need for energy and that helps with the global warming.

a side note: not an exact quote. if it doesn't sound like something she'd say look it up. i am not trying to twist this and will never try to twist someones words. it is very dishonest in the every day and intellectual sense. if you don't believe she said it then look at the statement by itself and use it as to help organize and challenge your own thoughts.

standing there with the "no" "no" "no" falling out of my mouth, i thought there is much to talk about but this really hits me in the head and i would love to turn and smack the person swinging the bat. Its not about who is saying it its about all those who seem to agree. I seem to remember in the little formal education i had something about communist countries paying people to sweep the sidewalks so every body would have jobs. this statement its not about jobs. it does seem very socialist. as for the energy, there is an energy problem, massive innovation is the only real long term solution. As for global warming, yes the planet is a little warmer, is the cure more harmful than the disease.

I personally am much happier if my family or friends of my grandparents do those thing. i feel even better if i do it myself and even better than that if they can still do it for themselves.

Take it in and think just for a second .
