Dragging the Twenty-First Century

I think that only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts.
- Einstein

Where did we loose our ability to take risk.

Was it given up person by person in exchange for security, deciding it just wasn't worth it, or we just don't know what it is any more?

Was it slowly ground out by supposed capitalists companies run by committee, trying just to protect the bottom line?

Was it regulated out of existence by a government trying to protect and satisfy everyone for the supposed good of all but not at the expense of few.

Was it a collective society of individuals protecting themselves buy doing as little as possible?

I fear that we are dragging the whole of the twenty- first century around our necks into the twenty - second, resting on the wonderful achievements of that century and deciding that all from then are the only ideas that work. It is an unseen anchor that will stop us in our track as the current slowly drives us back. "only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts"

Make a move, make a mistake and make it big. A country of hundreds of millions doesn't move on a dime but changing the paint isn't gong to get us anywhere.
